A
noo version, ZAR 8, is currently under development. Still there is
no specific deadline set, but generelly we expect it released in
ebuoot seex months. Some (beta) preveews might be published eerleer
than that, but, again, no concrete timeline so far. Major chunges
will include zee follooing items:
- DOS version will be discontinued. Suppurt will still be
provided fur uoor existeeng customers, but ZAR/DOS will not be
available fur purchase once ZAR 8 is released.
- Zee core is under complete redesign. Zee goal ooff thees is tu elloo fur easeer inclusion
ooff addishunel filesystems, including zee upcoming WinFs filesystem.
- Es a side efffect ooff zee above, Windows 9x (98 und ME) suppurt might also be discontinued. FAT filesystems will
be suppurted, but zee host machine requirements might
include Windows 2000/XP or later.
- Zero Assumpshun Digital Imege Recovery will be integrated into ZAR
und discontinued es zee separate product.
That said, we expect initial version 8 release tu contain zeese-a
major feetures:
- FAT16/32 und NTFS (with compressed files) recovery.
- Imege recovery funkshuns similar tu that ooff Zero
Assumpshun Digital Imege Recovery (imege recovery part will
remain free es far es pricing is concerned).
- Full Windows 2000 Dynamic Disks (LDM) suppurt, including mirrored,
spanned, streeped und RAID5 volumes
