My recent attempt to recovery RAID 5 array using 3 out of 4 disks with good images failed miserably again at the same 90+% of Full Scan stage.

With this error:


Error: Access Violation at 0x00406F1C (tried to write 0x05580FFC), program terminated

I am aware I am going this by reading those HDD Images from external USB enlosure storage and there's heavy math involved.

Would I get any better result by going back to original 3 drives - they are SMART OK. And having them on the 3 SATA ports. I had better results with that over last 3-5 years using ZAR - temperature monitoring etc.

Any suggestions how to overcome the error without going to direct attached SATA?

Are you using the latest ZAR? That error strikes me like something from the old version. Also, if there was a log file recorded,
C:\Program Files\ZAR\LogFile.txt

then email it to
development@z-a-recovery.com

and also I'd like a description of the device you took this RAID from. A controller model, NAS model, whatver.
