Import address book

How Outlook Express stores contacts?

Outlook Express stores contacts in a special file with a .WAB file type (extension), short for Windows Address Book. The Windows Address Book file is located in the
%APPDATA%\Microsoft\Address Book

What is a %APPDATA% thing?; you will also need to adjust Windows Explorer settings to show hidden objects - the Microsoft folder is hidden from view with the default system settings.

The name of .WAB file matches the name of your Windows user profile; how to find user profile folder?

How to import contacts into newly created OE profile?

Start Outlook Express

Select "File" -- "Import"

Select "Address Book..."

Specify a .WAB file to import contacts from (see section above)

Click "Open"

Wait until the import completes

I have accidentaly deleted all pictures from a CF (CompactFlash) card. I was looking for some recovery tools. I tried FAT-based tools, but they could not get back all the pictures (my camera might use some strange image storing mechanism). Then I found Zero Assumption Digital Image Recovery, which found all my pictures and even those deleted half year ago (and not yet overwritten). [...] Thumbs up!. Thanks, guys for this freeware! User interface is not exciting, but who cares? It does the job, and that's it.
